Did you know that Columbia Engineering has a 3-2 Combined Plan Program where students receive both a B.A. from an affiliated liberal arts college and a B.S. from Columbia in just 5 years?

In the Combined Plan program, students attend one of over 90 affiliated liberal arts colleges for 3 years, completing the requirements for the liberal arts degree along with a pre-engineering course of study.  Students then attend Columbia  School of  Engineering and Applied Sciences for 2 years, completing the Bachelor of Science degree.

Did you know that the National Science Foundation’s MPS funding for the California Institute of Technology was $293 million as of 2010 — more than any other educational institution, and every state except California and New York?

The National Science Foundation Directorate for Mathematical & Physical Sciences (MPS) is a government organization committed to making discoveries about the Universe, creating new knowledge, preparing the next generation of scientists, and sharing with the nation the excitement of exploration.

In a recent MPS-funded project, teams of astronomers led by Caltech scientists discovered the largest and farthest reservoir of water ever detected in the universe.

Did you know that in March 2012, there will be an Engineering Expo at White Plains High School?

If you’re a high school student in the New York area  considering a career in engineering, you should put this event on your calendar  – you’ll have the chance to meet engineering professionals and college  representatives from all over the country. The Lower Hudson Valley Engineering Expo is a project of The Foundation for Engineering Education, Inc.

We encourage all OFC students and their families to join us for this very special event where you’ll have the opportunity to meet others going through the college process, talk to OFC staff in a relaxed atmosphere, and network with young professionals in education, technology, and the arts.

We also invite college students, young job seekers, and others going through an important education or career transition – or anyone who’d like to join us for what promises to be an evening of wonderful conversations. The event is free and open to the public; RSVP is required. Visit this link for more info and to RSVP.
